Kidrobot x Throwback Thursday

May 04, 2017

A little bit of a Kidrobot #TBT for you.. there is a magical place where creature of all shapes and sizes collect… and its called Kidrobot.com. In the creative corners of this magical place is a group of vinyl toys called the Horrible Adorables…. Chris Holt, aka the Toy Viking is here to say a little something else about them.  It blows my mind that people are discovering new animal species all the time.  Some random scientist will be walking around the jungle and all of a sudden spot a monkey he doesn’t recognize.  A quick internet search and a favorite band/ somewhat Latin name later and everything we learned at the zoo is different.  We here at Kidrobot aren’t content to wait around while the natural world changes, which is why we enlisted the help of Horrible Adorables to create some critters we wish were out there.  And who knows, you may have a few of these living under your porch surviving off of take out pizza and just waiting to take a selfie with you.  Trust me, go and introduce a new animal on social media and everyone who ignored you in high school will be trying to slide into your dm’s.  Don’t expect a reply though, cause I told you I was gonna do big things and the “I just discovered a ballin new species train” has left the station without you on it, Class of 1997.
There are seven different amazing creatures to choose from, each one the perfect translation from the hand made felt creations that inspired them.  Now let this squad inspire you to go out there and discover all this world has to offer.  Then you can come back and tell me about it, because I’m really behind on all of my shows and need to clear some space on my DVR.  Power watching tv is kind of like an adventure of sorts.

Rejects Art Toy Figures by One-Eyed GirlQ & A with Toy Designer One-Eyed Girl AKA Kasey Tararuj on release of The Rejects - Dark Chocolate Edition on Kidrobot.com. "I’ve been paralyzed and in a wheelchair for almost 20 years and I spent so much of that time creating all this weird, emotional art to help deal with it. I got to a point where that got old and making these silly characters was way more therapeutic than trying to put my feelings into a painting. So now I make my little guys to make myself laugh or smile and hope that it does the same for others." -One-Eyed Girl AKA Kasey Tararuj
