In 2006, the Vinyl Toy Network brought together companies, designers, artists, retailers, and distributors all under one roof to showcase the world of vinyl toys. Now known as Designer Con aka D-CON, the show has grown tremendously and incorporates the worlds of plush, sculpture, apparel, print, and more into this annual art nerd convention.
Designer Con is being held this Saturday, November 5 at the Pasadena Convention Center. The exhibit hall will be packed with vendors and attendees will get to experience live paintings, goodie bags, Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School, The World’s Biggest ‘Blindbox Time’ opening, and a LEGO Art show featuring original LEGO sculptures by Brandon Griffith. The Con also includes a plethora of artist booths and scheduled appearances including Paul Kaiju, Amanda Louise Spayd, Doktor A, Scott Tolleson, Ragnar, Chris Ryniak, Ardabus Rubber, Brandt Peters, Kathie Olivas, Mr. Toast, Josh “F+” Pearce and many many more. But what would a con be with out exclusives? Well, Designer Con has you covered with amazing exclusives from a brass and metal badge by Dok A limited to just 80 pieces, to Sucklord’s “dumny” and Yoskay Yamamoto’s Screaming for Sunrise in metallic red.
