Junior Digital Sculptor Position at Kidrobot

Job Overview:

Working in partnership with other designers to bring designs to life in 3D using ZBrush.  This includes, sculpting figures in a broad range of styles, from organic to hard service, from super stylized to realistic, and process 3D files for Prototype & Mold Making.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Ensure that proper form, shape, structure, and silhouette are being applied to sculpts
  • Interprets 2D designs to 3D sculpts to accurately match their real-world counterparts
  • Collaborates with other artists to create a consistent brand vision
  • Works efficiently and with open communication to ensure seamless handoffs between pre- and post-production artists and other departments
  • Talk to licensors and artists to develop an artistic approach and style
  • Utilizes digital art expertise to composite and arrange sculpts for presentation
  • Present sculpts to licensors and artists for approval
  • Coordinate activities with other artistic and creative departments
  • Work with the senior artists to prioritize production needs
  • Assist other team members within the design department as needed
  • Contribute to the creative process and procedures

Qualifications:

  • Digital Art Education preferred but not required
  • Graphic design skills are helpful but not required
  • 0-1 year of experience in a previous Digital Sculpting Design role
  • Must be extremely proficient with Zbrush
  • Strong grasp of both 2D and 3D design
  • Understanding of the molding and production process
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines and under stress
  • Must be able to work in a collaborative team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Superb organization and time management skills
  • Ability to take constructive feedback
  • Ability to work in a fast paced/changing environment and shift priorities as needed
  • Highly organized with the ability to multi-task across several ongoing projects
  • Work with factory color call outs, artwork applications, and sculpt direction
  • Fun, creative and insightful, and not afraid to share your opinion
  • Knowledge of pop culture preferred but not required
