Shane
Jessup started writing graffiti around 1994 after his family relocated him
to Northern California from a small town in Texas. Soon after being introduced
to the world of graffiti, he spent all his free time traveling and painting
across the US and Europe. His travels have led him to paint in over a dozen
countries and participate in such events as “Nitty Gritty Graf Show”
in Phoenix, AZ, “Graf Angeles” in Los Angeles, CA, and numerous
appearances at “Paint Louis” in St. Louis, MO. Graffiti lead
Shane into graphic design and digital illustration where he has worked on
such projects as Phantom Magazine (co-founder and co-editor), While You
Were Sleeping Magazine, Free Agents: A History of Washington DC Graffiti,
and King Status Clothing (owner and designer). He has done mural, clothing
design, and graphic design work for such clients as Coca-Cola, R77 Publishing,
Independent Truck Company, Bootleg Skateboards, Urban Outfitters, Kidrobot,
and EA Video Games.
Currently Shane Jessup is a graphic and clothing designer working in the
skateboard industry. He has launched his own design firm, Hammer Design,
which is always happily accepting more work. His first co-designed toy will
be released around Spring of 2004 by Kid Robot and he is featured in the
R77 / Gingko Press release, Morning Wood, available now at some fine retailers.
